Word Count:Article Body:
Credit card rebates are the perfect way for you to get some of the money back that you have spent throughout the year. More and more credit card companies are getting involved with rebate credit cards and reward credit cards because consumers have clearly shown increased interest in the rebate cards that offer the best benefits.

We all love to get something for nothing, but it very rarely happens. However credit card rebates give you that opportunity. If you have an existing credit card then you’re going to use it to make purchases anyway, so why not get a little extra back every time you use your card with these credit card rebates?

The idea of rebate credit cards has been around for quite some time. The concept works on the principal that a percentage of cash is retuned to the cardholder at the end of each year, based on the total amount of card charges. The more times you make a purchase with your card, and the more money you spend, the more money you get back. The percentage of money you get returned when you use your rebate credit cards varies. Some companies will offer excellent deals that give you up to 5% cash back on selected purchases, others offer rates starting at 1% on all purchases. This type of card was introduced primarily to keep the business of cardholders who purchase most of their goods by credit card, and who pay the outstanding balance every month.

Like all other credit cards, it’s prudent to shop around to find a rebate credit card that offers the best deal to suit your circumstances. If you don’t pay off your balance every month then it may not be the card for you, as the APR can be slightly higher than other cards on offer. However, if you are the type of person who does pay their balance off each month, then it’s the kind of card you should consider using. The rebate credit card is a good way to actually get paid for spending.

Many lenders offer credit card rebates in conjunction with other reward schemes. Some give discounts when you purchase selected items, or goods from partner companies. If you use a certain supermarket, gas station, or drug store regularly it would be extremely beneficial to you to get 5% of your cash back on every purchase. Find out which rebate credit card provider offers their rebate at the stores you regularly use. There are websites available online that will let you do a comparison on rebate credit cards, so you can find the best deals suitable for you.

Be sure to be aware of the terms and conditions of your credit card agreement, as some companies do have a limit on the value of rewards and credit card rebates you can claim in one calendar year. On a $300 reward maximum, you can spend $6000 annually on gas or at the supermarket, for example, if your card has a 5% rebate. If your family budget exceeds $6000 dollars why not apply for another card for your spouse. This way you can maximize the amount of money you are able to get back on your rebate credit card.

Some rebate credit cards insist you have a monthly balance remaining to qualify for the rewards. If you don’t carry a balance into the next month then no rebate is accumulated. This type of card doesn’t produce as many benefits. You end up paying interest on your balance, and as the rebate credit card normally has a higher APR, the benefits of the rebate can be negated. It’s important that you look out for this when choosing a new card.

One thing you shouldn’t do is buy goods you don’t need in order to get a rebate. You should also be aware that if you return an item your rebate is deducted. On the whole credit card rebates can be very useful if used correctly, it just depends on your situation.

Credit Card Or Secured Credit Card? Which One Is Best For My Lifestyle

Are you pondering on whether you should apply for a credit card? Well, the answer quite simply is Yes – you should apply for a credit card (this is true for most people). The credit cards seem to have transformed our lives. In fact, one can term credit cards as a revolution. Today, you find ads in TV/newspapers/website/shops and almost anywhere and everywhere; all asking you to apply for a credit card. When you look around, you see that most people have credit cards. In fact, most people have multiple credit cards. Everyone seems to apply for a credit card. So, why should you apply for a credit card?

There are a lot of benefits associated with credit cards; however, the most important benefit is the convenience that they offer. For most people, this is the prime and the sole reason that instigates them to apply for a credit card. This wouldnt have been the case a few years ago, when not many merchants accepted credit cards. However, today, most merchants do accept credit cards. So, instead of carrying a lot of cash on you (which is both inconvenient and unsafe), you can just carry a small piece of plastic with you.

Moreover, you get interest free credit i.e. you dont have to pay the bills till the next monthly billing cycle. So, you can buy now and pay later (when your salary arrives) a great reason to apply for a credit card. To add to that, there are certain merchants that offer interest-free installment payment plan i.e. you can make a big purchase today and pay for it in installments on your credit card. So credit cards works as instant long term loan too (not just a monthly loan). Yet another reason to apply for a credit card is the discounts on shopping. This is made possible by the tie-ups between credit card companies and the merchants. So credit cards offer many benefits.

There are various ways in which you can apply for a credit card – you can apply for a credit card in person, you can apply for a credit card on the internet and you can apply for a credit card on phone too (by asking the representative to meet you). You will as such be approached by a lot of sales representatives, all asking you to apply for a credit card with their company.

To apply for a credit card, you will need to fill-in a credit card application form (which is easy to fill and the representatives of the credit card company will assist you in that). When you apply for a credit card, you basically enter into an agreement with the credit card supplier (the form that you fill when you apply for a credit card is actually an agreement). After you have submitted your application, the credit card company conducts certain checks to determine your credibility; and if everything is fine, you receive the credit card.

So, applying for a credit card is easy and to apply for a credit card or not to apply for a credit card is a matter of personal choice. However, for most people who dont have any credit card, the recommendation is Apply for a credit card.

Just browse through the daily newspaper and you will be overwhelmed by the number of credit card offers advertised. Move around the town and you will find credit card offers being advertised everywhere. Same is the case is with television which seems to host a number of credit card offers too. So, the credit card offers are there everywhere. Why are there so many credit card offers? Well, quite simply because credit card business is a highly profitable business for the credit card suppliers.

In this situation, when there is no dearth of credit card offers, which is the best credit card offer?

There is nothing like a best credit card offer, really. A better question to ask would be Which credit card offer is the best for me? The spending habits of one person are different from that of another person. Their living styles vary and hence their needs vary too. So for deciding on which credit card offer is best for you, you need to evaluate your needs vis–vis your lifestyle and your spending habits (and not go just by the recommendation of someone).

For example, if you frequently travel by air, a co-branded airline credit card might be more suited to you than the general purpose one. These airline credit cards offer discounts, rebates and other kind of rewards when the credit card is used for making payments (the rewards are even higher when these credit cards are used for paying for the airline tickets or other airline products).

Similarly, if you have a favorite retail store where you do a lot of your shopping, it would be beneficial to check if the retailer is a credit card supplier too and if there is a credit card offer that suits you. A lot of big retail chains do offer co-branded credit cards to their customers and these credit cards offer rebates/discounts etc when they are used for making payments at the retail store. As such, you get reward points for making payments at any place but the rewards are higher on the payments made at retail store.

On similar lines, we have credit cards for gas stations and grocery stores too, which you can opt for if you have a favorite gas station or a favorite grocery store where you shop a lot.

So, if you look around, you will find a lot of lucrative credit card offers. However, this doesnt mean that you enroll for all the credit card offers. You need to first evaluate your needs and rank them. Then you need to evaluate what all credit card offers suit your needs. And finally you can make your choice and go for a credit card offer that covers most of your needs and gives maximum benefits.

Some of us though dont like the idea of being in debt. Here is where the idea of a secured credit card comes in.

Secured credit cards are another very popular breed of credit cards. Secured credit cards, as their name suggests, are secured. Well, they are secured for the credit card supplier, really. Secured credit cards require you to open an account with the credit card supplier and maintain some cash balance in that account. This cash balance acts as a security for the supplier of secured credit card. Your credit limit is dependent on the amount you hold in the account that you have started with the supplier of secured credit card. This is generally between 50 to 100% of your account balance. So in that sense, secured credit cards are not really credit cards (since they dont offer you any credit really). For this reason, the secured credit cards are sometimes also referred as debit cards.

Why is the concept of secured credit cards so important?

As we know, credit card debt is a raging problem which is caused by improper usage of credit cards. Such people end up spoiling their credit rating to an extent where they cannot get another unsecured credit card (that is what we call the commonly used credit cards). Even after they have paid off their dues and cleared their debt, their credit rating still haunts them. For such people, secured credit cards are a boon.

Secured credit cards present them with an opportunity to not only get a credit card in the first place but also to improve their credit rating by using the secured credit card in a disciplined way (paying their dues in time, controlled spending, utilizing a maximum of 70% credit limit etc etc). As they continue with these good habits, their credit rating gradually improves over a period of time. Hence secured credit cards provide them with the means of rectifying their mistakes (credit rating).

Its not just the people with bad credit rating who go for secured credit cards. Some people go for secured credit cards because they dont want to bother themselves with the bills etc for credit cards. They dont like to even fill-up application forms for unsecured credit cards.

Then there are some who just dont like to borrow money (even if it means borrowing from a credit card supplier by using their credit card). However, such people are very rare to find.

Some people just go for secured credit cards because they have heard a lot of horrifying stories on credit card debt maybe someone from their family or one of their friends was devastated by credit card debt and they dont want to repeat the mistake. So they decide to go for a secured credit card.

Whatever be the reason for going for it, the secured credit cards are surely popular too.

It seems adamant that the people of today are unable to get rid of the use of credit cards. The role of credit cards appears to be indispensable. True indeed, purchases, payment of bills, and other important transactions are carried out these days through credit cards. The credit cards must not however be misconstrued with the nature of the debit cards. The fact is that these credit cards can carry out transactions such as large and regular purchase methods although no specific amount is credited to the card itself.

As a rule, the issuer of the credit card works on a specific credit limit. There is always a predetermined maximum amount in which the owner of the card cannot exceed in every transaction. Meaning, if the credit limit has been reached, other transactions will no longer be entertained unless the credit has been paid or if another credit extension has been granted to the user of the card.

Due to the fast growth of credit card users, the concerned companies compete with each other through the employment of various marketing strategies. They combat with each other in this kind of business by means of offering several credit card offers to make the promotion deliciously appealing to the consumers. Among the major credit card offers are:

The interest rates. Most credit card companies secure the lowest interest rates in every single due payment. This goes to show that more consumers will get attracted to the offer. The interest rate goes in between 1.2% to 5% only.

The minimum amounts due. In each of the months, a credit card firm contains some percentage of amount which takes its basis from the charges or amount purchased incurred by the credit card user. If the concerned party fails to pay the due in the designated time, additional charges will henceforth be faced.

The waiving of the dues. Credit card offers such as the cut off of either one or two periods of billing without extra charges heaped on the card owner is again another meaty offer. The interest rate is hence waived if the consumer is able to pay in full and in advance his incurred dues for a particular transaction.

The extension card. There is always this credit card offer in which the principal credit card holder can apply for an extension card so that another person, usually a family member, can likewise enjoy the privileges of the credit card.

The balance transfers. Most of today’s credit card firms are able to give out low interest charges for the transfer of any balance from one card to another. This strategy is worked out so that a certain credit card firm can have the hold of the user’s loyalty.

Credit card offers are always pleasant to the eyes. More so, there are some particular advantages to be earned from using the credit card. First, there is a low chance of losing cash. Just imagine yourself shopping at the mall but you don’t carry with you some cash to spend. Second, credit cards are always easily available. In emergency cases such as purchasing medicine, credit card payments are always accepted.

Now you know how valuable credit card offers can be. You bet, in no time at all you will also entertain the thought of procuring one for your own.

College Student Credit Card Offers: How To Know If A Credit Card Is Right For You

As a college student, you will experience a lot of financial difficulties, especially because education is getting more and more expensive each semester. You also have to face the fact that your everyday college expenses, such as laundry and transportation can prove to be very difficult to budget.

Of course, there is always mom and dad to rely on whenever you are having financial difficulties while you are in college. However, you also need to consider the fact that you just can’t depend on your parents every time you need money. This is also why you apply for part time jobs while in college or in places within your campus just to make ends meet. And, even your meager salary in your part time job is simply not enough for your daily needs in your college life.

If you are experiencing this kind of life in college, then it may be time for you to get a student credit card. This particular credit card is specially designed for students and is very different from your regular credit card. Because it may be the first time for college students to apply for a credit card, most credit card companies designed their student credit cards to be a form of secured credit cards.

Because it is a secured credit card, you will be able to avoid accumulating high amounts of debt because of reckless spending. As a college student, you have to remember that you need to be responsible for your financial problems. If you need groceries but you dont have the money for it, then it may be time for you to use your student credit card. Never use your credit card in shopping for unnecessary items, such as the expensive pair of sneakers that you’ve always wanted.

Today, there are many student credit card offers that may be circulating in college and university campuses all over the United States. This means that agents may be actively promoting in your campus to sell their credit cards. The next question is what kind of student credit card offer you should get.

Just like shopping for a regular credit card, you have to ask yourself if you really need the credit card and will you be able to use it frequently. If you do need a credit card because you dont eat three times a day and you dont even have money to pay for transportation or pay for your laundry, then it may be time for you to get a student credit card. However, if your answer is that you need a student credit card to purchase that pair of sneakers you always wanted and that latest and very trendy iPod, then you dont need a student credit card.

When choosing student credit card offers, you have to estimate all the cost of owning one and determine if you can afford to own one. This may be not a problem at all as there are a variety of student credit cards that has different plans to suit every kind of student.

The last and perhaps the most important question that you should ask yourself is if you are responsible enough to own a student credit card. Try to ask yourself if you just buy anything that is being offered to you without thinking about your primary needs first. If you are, then you are a compulsive buyer and you should keep your hands off a credit card.

These are the things you should know when you are being offered a student credit card.

Credit card offers come in two most popular ways: whether by letter mails or by e-mails, so this does not surprise you when after logging onto your email account, you get this stream of credit card offers promising you this better feature than the other, giving you lower rates than the most, featuring more rewards, and so on and so forth. If you are someone who is easily smitten by these juicy offers, you could easily give in and apply to the first mail that caught your fancy.

How can you decide which company has the best credit card offer? While you may not believe it, it would all start with you. You have to think if you can handle a credit card wisely such that it would not let you leave in financial setbacks because of inability to pay for the bills in the end. This is typically the consequence of most cardholders who does not pay attention to how he is using the credit card. It usually ends up leaving them without enough funds when the bill arrived because of the substantial amount of purchases.

Before deciding to apply for a credit card, make sure you know how you can use it in the wisest manner. Otherwise, you can stick with your cash on hands; though that could be most inconvenient. If you have decided you can handle it, then, by all means, you can start hunting for the best credit card company.

First, know the annual percentage rates of the credit card companies. Do not be fooled on the advertisement of some companies which tells an obviously lower rate, but in fact has hidden charges. A zero-interest rate is even more doubtful, so take time to research how a zero-interest rate credit card would apply. Zero-interest rate feature could happen, but that could only be the introductory offer. What happens is it skyrockets without you properly informed and is already reflected on the bills after several months, so be cautious.

Second, learn of all the kinds of interest rates that the credit card company offers. There are credit card companies which offer fixed rate, wherein you will pay for a rate that will be charged the same rate all year round. Other company could charge variable rates, which keeps fluctuating, depending on the outside financial gauges.

Learn how credit card companies notify their customers regarding changes of balances. While others keep their clients updated with their accounts by sending monthly letter mails, others send through text messages or e-mails. This is a very important factor as you may expect another kind of notification from what the company is really providing; thus, may allow you to overlook some discrepancies with the statements.

It is also important to learn of the annual fees. Again, do not get fooled by some companies which offer free annual fee as this could only be part of introductory offer to the clients. The waived annual fee could only be on the first year after the membership, and may start reflecting on the succeeding years after the bills of the first year.

Make sure you know how the credit card company takes charge of the lost credit cards. This should be stipulated as fraud program of the company, and review this portion to avoid hassles in the end. You can ask the company questions about this aspect for make things clearer.

Statistics show that women are now getting closer to becoming financially independent; they now enjoy the benefits of spending their own money in whatever way they want to spend it. Thanks to the benefits that credit cards can bring nowadays as far as finances are concerned.

Some people know them better as financial freedom cards.

With the fast-paced lifestyle that people have these days, the utilization of credit cards seems to have a great impact on the financial status of every individual.

In fact, with the proliferation of credit cards in the market today, more and more people are applying to obtain a credit card for their own use. No wonder that credit card growth is skyrocketing, with more than 80% of American household owning at least one credit card.

Given these facts, credit card companies dominate the market today. With many hundreds of credit card offers being advertised in print and broadcast media, people are sometimes confused which credit card could work best for them.

With so many credit card offers available in the market today, choosing the best credit card can be really tricky. Almost anywhere you look, credit card companies will load you up with freebies and benefits galore when you apply for their card.

Most of the credit card offers are so tempting that many people are encouraged or enticed to obtain a credit card even if their lifestyle will not permit them. Some people will apply even if they do not need a card at all.

However, with these tempting credit card offers, choosing the right card is the best thing that you can do to ensure that you get the card that meets every need when traveling.

If you are considering any credit card offers, now is the time for you to learn how to choose the best. Here are some ideas to help you:

1. Do your homework

Know more about credit cards. Try to learn more about the credit limits, annual percentage rate, and charges that go with every package.

Keep in mind that there are credit card offers that are bundled with some tricky credit card charges. What is the late or penalty fee? Is there a grace period to pay the charges? Is there a statement charge per month? Be aware when considering some of these options because otherwise you will never know what charges have hit, until you have made an inadvertent mistake with your card.

As they say, a well-informed decision is a smart decision.

2. Know the offers

The other advantages of having an international credit card instead of hard cash? Some credit cards allow billing in local currencies.

As in the regular use of credit cards, charges made during your trip abroad allow for a more flexible payment schedule. You do not have to fork over paper money to that shoe store sales clerk in Bangkok right away, for instance. In some cases, you can even pay in installments for your charges.

However, not all credit cards can give you this kind of benefit. So, if you often need this kind of advantage, try to look for a card that can provide this service in their credit card offer.

3. Customer support

When evaluating credit card offers, do not just be concerned with the freebies, low interest rates, and other incredible credit card perks. Whenever possible, opt for those that can give you 24 hour a day, 7 day a week customer service.

Some credit cards can offer you this. When you travel abroad, you do not have to wait for regular business hours in the United States to get help. Many credit card companies offer 24/7 customer service. Make sure you know when you can get service, and how fast you can get a replacement card if yours is lost or stolen.

So the next time you receive a new credit card offer, remember to use these tips. Go for the best experience when traveling by choosing a credit card that meets your needs.

You could find a hard time getting the best credit card offer because this is an unproven fact. The best credit card varies in terms of the needs of a person, so there is no true one “best” credit card Nevertheless, it is more accepted if you find the offer which is best for you. Different persons have different needs. Therefore what you consider as the “best” would not be appropriate for another person or vice versa.

Probably everyday, you will be receiving countless numbers of mails which is encouraging you to avail of credit cards from their companies. Bombarded by lots of options, you might get pressured and easily decide and settle down on what you think is the best without conducting an assessment or even be confused by free credit card offers.

To avoid miscommunication, free credit card offers do not allow you to pay the application fee or annual fee in owning the credit card. Reread the unsolicited mails that you have received. You will find out that it is already stated in the application which is pre-approved. This type of credit cards is offered mostly by stores and banks.

Keep in mind that a credit card is just a modern term for borrowing money. There is only an extension of payments regarding the purchased products within a specified period of time. Even if the credit card that you have applied for is free, monthly interest fees will still be charged upon considering your purchase balances. When you pay your expenses late, late fees will be again charged doubling your payment. In this case it helps a lot if you carefully read the conditions and terms stated in your application to avoid getting fooled by the word “Free” splattered all over their promotional tools.

There are factors to consider when weighing offers from various credit card companies. It does not matter how you are going to use the credit cards, or your current lifestyle.

Every person first considers the APR when choosing the credit card they wanted to have. Economic experts even suggest that credit cards having the lowest rates when talking about interests are rated the best. They have based their findings on the equation saying that the lower an APR is, the lower the expenses you are going to pay. So, if you could find a credit card having lower interest rates could make a huge difference between savings and long term unpaid expenses.

You could find the best credit card offer if you have the initiative to research different credit card companies. It will save you greater amounts of money when you make comparisons upon the interest rates being provided.

It could be a difficult task especially if you are going to do it the first time. You could hardly find credit cards with lower interest rates if you don’t possess any credit lines. But there is still an option that will suit your needs. It is normal that you will be getting credit cards with higher interest rates at first. In the end, you will benefit from this action because once your credit card is established; it is possible for you now to apply for credit cards having low interest rates.

Beware of fantastic offers from various credit card companies. Before signing any contract, make sure that you already studied every detail. It is typical that credit card markets are very competitive with thousands of companies who are really after your business. Just take time when looking. Anyway it is for your own good when you get the best credit card offer and gain future success.

0% APR Credit Cards – What You Need to Know

Word Count:Article Body:
0% APR credit cards are an appealing option for frequent shoppers that rely on having a low monthly interest rate when they cannot pay off the entire balance of the credit card in any month. But what you really need to know about 0% APR credit card offers, often times is never discussed.

For starters, the APR is the commonly-used acronym for “Annual Percentage Rate,” which is the annual month-to-month rate that you can expect to get for your credit card balance. Naturally, if you frequently carry your credit card balance over from month-to-month, it is important for you to have a low or even 0% APR credit card.

How it Works

Every credit card company makes money when shoppers use the card, but do not pay off the balance at the end of each month. Because the credit card company has lent shoppers money so that they can make their purchases, the credit card company will charge interest on the balance until the entire balance is paid off. The credit card company has the potential to make a generous profit from the balances of their customers each month. Naturally, as a consumer, having a 0% APR credit card means that your balance is carried over from month-to-month without any charges applied.

Beware of High Interest Rates

It may seem like credit cards actually lose money by investing in a 0% APR credit card promotion. However, the 0% APR credit cards actually help credit card companies find customers. For example, if there is a shopper that has a high APR (some are up to 20%) and he or she is having a hard time paying down the balance of the credit card, the purchaser is in an ideal situation to transfer their balance to a 0% APR credit card for a period in which they can focus on working down their debt. The situation is ideal for someone who is in short-term debt. However, to balance the 0% APR credit cards against the credit card company’s need to make a profit, as soon as a trial period expires, many credit card companies will increase their rates drastically. As a consumer, you need to read the fine print so that you are aware of the deadlines associated with this change-over.

Where to Find a 0% APR Credit Card

It may seem harder than it really is to find a 0% APR credit card. It’s advantageous to find a card that doesn’t require you to pay a month-to-month rate on the unpaid balance. However, credit card companies frequently enact 0% APR credit card promotional deals, so take a look around for what deals are available to you currently.

0% APR credit cards can make managing your debt very easy. While most of them do not require annual fees, it is important for you to understand what you are agreeing to before you sign a contact with a company. While most 0% APR credit cards eventually increase the rate after a set period of time, the duration of the promotional period varies by company. As with any credit card agreement, a little research and education into the details of a 0% APR credit card can go a long way towards helping you make a decision that can positively effect your finances. Choose wisely!

Those who have bad credit or who have recently filed for bankruptcy may be surprised to find that they are still receiving numerous credit card offers. This has become a well known issue, and it is apparent that banks either don’t know or don’t care that the people they are sending offers to already have bad credit. In most cases, banks and credit card companies don’t take the time to research people they send offers to.

While most credit card companies are partial to consumers who have excellent credit, some companies have programs that are directed towards those who have little or no credit. Despite this, credit card companies should still not be sending offers to consumers who have filed for bankruptcy or defaulted on their credit cards in the past. In most cases, banks are either intentionally sending offers or just don’t know about the credit history of those they mail offers to.

Traditionally, credit card companies have used a business strategy that is very profitable. They would charge consumers 19% interest on the money that was borrowed, and they would also charge an annual fee that could be a high as $20. Combine this with the money the received from retailers who accepted their cards, and you are looking at an industry which generates billions of dollars each year. During this time, banks were cautious about who they gave cards to, because they couldn’t afford to suffer heavy losses.

By the 1990s, banks begin to have access to detailed credit information about their customers. Institutions like Equifax, TransUnion, and Experian allowed banks to make specific decisions about customers who applied for credit cards. With this technology, you have to wander why credit card companies would send offers to anyone, including those who have filed for bankruptcy. The answer is because it is cheaper to mass mail cards to thousands of consumers rather than look for specific individuals who qualify.

It is best for those who have bad credit to avoid applying for these offers. If you get denied, you can be hurt even more, and you should want to repair you credit. If you want to avoid all credit cards, it may be a good idea to look at prepaid debit cards, which can be used like credit cards without the problems often seen with them. The use of credit cards is important in the US, and if you can’t apply for one there will always be other options.
